Job SummaryWe are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Orthopedic Urgent Care Physician Assistant to join our fast-paced, patient-centered team. This position is for our Urgent Care hours 5pm-8pm Monday-Thursday and 9am-2pm Saturday. In this vital role, you will provide immediate orthopedic care to patients presenting with acute musculoskeletal injuries and conditions. Your expertise will help deliver efficient, high-quality treatment, ensuring optimal patient outcomes in a collaborative environment. Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments including vital signs, physical examinations, and injury evaluations with a focus on musculoskeletal and orthopedic conditions.
- Manage acute pain through appropriate interventions such as medication administration, injections, and other pain management techniques.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations utilizing medical imaging and laboratory results; interpret findings to inform treatment plans.
- Provide urgent orthopedic interventions including suturing, splinting, casting, and wound care while maintaining aseptic technique.
- Document all patient encounters accurately within eCW, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists for complex cases requiring advanced procedures or hospital admission; coordinate referrals as needed.
- Assist in triage by prioritizing patient care based on severity of injury or illness; participate in clinical research and data collection initiatives to improve care quality.
Qualifications
- Valid Physician Assistant license with current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Proven experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or hospital settings with a focus on orthopedic or musculoskeletal injuries.
- Proficiency in EMR systems such as eClinicalWorks; experience with CPT coding and ICD-10 coding for billing purposes.
- Demonstrated skills in suturing, injections (including botulinum toxin treatment), wound management, and physical examinations.
- Critical care experience including ventilator management, airway management, and ICU procedures preferred.
- Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, diagnostic evaluation techniques, and emergency protocols relevant to orthopedics.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations, infection control practices, and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and confidentiality.
- Excellent patient assessment skills combined with the ability to perform under pressure in a Level I or Level II trauma center environment.

Pay: $60.00 – $70.00 per hour
