Essential Duties and Responsibilities
1. Perform comprehensive and problem focused history and physical exams,Interpret and correlate subjective and objective data, including laboratory and diagnostic procedures, to formulate a differential diagnosis and establish a working diagnosis. Formulate a treatment plan for orthopedic problems within scope of practice. Implement therapeutic intervention for specific conditions when appropriate. Exercise judgment on problems requiring consultation, referral, or evaluation by the supervising orthopedic surgeon or other health care professionals.
2. Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures under ultrasound guidance, including joint and bursa aspirations, injections of joints, tendons, trigger points and bursae, and PRP / stem-cell injections.
3. Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies such as laboratory, electrocardiogram and imaging examinations such as Xray, CT, MRI, and bone scans.
4. Perform procedures such as wound closure, wound management, wound debridement, incision and drainage, and suture removal.
5. Order, prescribe, dispense, and administer medication, orthosis, orthotics,braces and other orthopedic devices.
6. Both purely clinical and clinical/surgical roles are possible.
7. The clinical/surgical role includes: Assist in surgery, mostly outpatient but some inpatient, perform deep and superficial tissue closures, application of appliances and any other action delegated by the surgeon. Conduct hospital rounds, write orders. Evaluate and clarify clinical conditions, formulate and implement a treatment or therapeutic plan for hospitalized patients.
8. Minimal call requirements shared by all providers

Education
Graduate from accredited PA program
Orthopedic Experience Preferred
Currently credentialed with Hackensack Meridian Hospital Network preferred but not required
Other Requirements
· Licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in NJ. Bonus to have NY license as well.· Active, unrestricted DEA and Controlled Substance Licenses in NJ· Individual National Provider Identifier (NPI)· Current ACLS Certification· Must demonstrate the ability to acquire the necessary skills/functions to excel in this position within three (3) months
Pay: $105,000-$160,000
