Inpatient Urology Physician Assistant

Opportunity Overview: We are seeking an experienced Physician Assistant to provide inpatient Urology coverage on a locums basis in Neptune, New Jersey . This role supports a busy Urology service and is needed to cover maternity leave . The position offers a structured weekday schedule with limited weekend responsibilities and no holiday shifts required .

Key Details:

• Schedule:

  • Monday–Friday: 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM

  • Weekends: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM (weekend call required)

  • No holidays or overtime anticipated

  • Schedule will vary slightly week-to-week

• Team Structure:

  • Work alongside 8 attending physicians

  • Supported by 1–2 other APPs on shift

  • Collegial and collaborative environment

• Patient Load:

  • Daily census of 15–29 inpatients

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Inpatient rounding and patient management

• Urologic procedure management, including:

  • Complex Foley catheter placement and management

  • Continuous bladder irrigation (CBI)

  • Suprapubic tube (SPT) exchange

• Collaborate with physicians and other APPs to deliver high-quality care

• Respond to inpatient consults and follow up on urologic issues

Requirements:

• Active CDS and DEA – Required

• Open to providers who need to obtain a New Jersey license

• IMLC (Interstate Medical Licensure Compact) participation is welcome

• Urology experience preferred , but trauma experience not required

• Strong communication and inpatient coordination skills
