Duties

  • Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with intake procedures to ensure a seamless check-in experience
  • Schedule appointments for physical therapy sessions across outpatient, inpatient, and post-acute care settings
  • Maintain accurate records of patient visits, treatment plans, and billing information in compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Coordinate communication between patients, therapists, physicians, and insurance providers to facilitate timely care delivery
  • Manage phone inquiries, appointment changes, and follow-up reminders with a positive and professional attitude
  • Support therapists by preparing treatment rooms, organizing supplies, and ensuring equipment is ready for use
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing medical documents, and updating patient records with attention to detail

Requirements

  • Prior experience in hospital or clinic environments demonstrating familiarity with medical procedures and patient service
  • Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practices
  • Experience working in inpatient or outpatient settings within hospital medicine or orthopedics is highly desirable
  • Strong understanding of acute care, geriatrics, sub-acute care, and post-acute care processes
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with diverse patient populations including elderly or chronically ill individuals
  • Ability to handle intake procedures efficiently while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism
  • Familiarity with hospital systems and electronic health records (EHR) software preferred
