Full Job Description
Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physician Assistant (PA) with demonstrated surgical experience to join our team. The PA will assist in the pre- and post-operative care, and support patients throughout the surgical continuum. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment (orthopedics, general surgery, etc):
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist surgeons during operative procedures, including but not limited to first assist duties (retraction, suturing, hemostasis, etc.)
- Conduct pre-operative evaluations and assessments
- Provide post-operative care and discharge planning
- Manage inpatient care, including rounding, writing orders, and coordinating multidisciplinary care
- Document patient encounters and surgical reports accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Perform minor procedures under supervision or independently, as credentialed
- Educate patients and families on surgical procedures, recovery, medications, and follow-up
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality surgical care
Qualifications:
Current and valid Physician Assistant license in New Jersey
BLS – AHA
Preferred Skills:
- Excellent technical and procedural skills – surgical and orthopedic
- Strong clinical decision-making and critical thinking skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
- Graduate from an accredited PA program
- NCCPA certification required
- Minimum of 1–3 years of surgical experience (general, orthopedic, cardiovascular, or other relevant specialties)
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)

Pay: $120,000.00 – $140,000.00 per year
