Full Job Description

Seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physician Assistant (PA) with demonstrated surgical experience to join our team. The PA will assist in the pre- and post-operative care, and support patients throughout the surgical continuum. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment (orthopedics, general surgery, etc):

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist surgeons during operative procedures, including but not limited to first assist duties (retraction, suturing, hemostasis, etc.)
  • Conduct pre-operative evaluations and assessments
  • Provide post-operative care and discharge planning
  • Manage inpatient care, including rounding, writing orders, and coordinating multidisciplinary care
  • Document patient encounters and surgical reports accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Perform minor procedures under supervision or independently, as credentialed
  • Educate patients and families on surgical procedures, recovery, medications, and follow-up
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality surgical care

Qualifications:

Current and valid Physician Assistant license in New Jersey

BLS – AHA

Preferred Skills:

  • Excellent technical and procedural skills – surgical and orthopedic
  • Strong clinical decision-making and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
  • Graduate from an accredited PA program
  • NCCPA certification required
  • Minimum of 1–3 years of surgical experience (general, orthopedic, cardiovascular, or other relevant specialties)
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR)

Pay: $120,000.00 – $140,000.00 per year
