Job Title:Locum General Surgery Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (Night Shift) – New Jersey

Location:New Jersey (Inpatient Hospital Setting)

Overview:We’re hiring two experienced Advanced Practice Providers (PA or NP) for an 8-month locum assignment providing nighttime inpatient coverage on a busy general surgery and surgical subspecialty service. If you’re looking for high-impact clinical work with no OR time or call duties—this is it.

This is a non-surgical first assist role focused on managing post-op patients, med-surg floors, and performing key bedside procedures.

Position Details:

• Shift: 7:00 PM – 8:00 AM
• Schedule: 7 nights/week (Providers split coverage)
• Setting: Inpatient – Med/Surg + Post-op follow-ups
• Start Date: ASAP (Emergency credentialing available)

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage general surgery and subspecialty surgical patients overnight
• Perform bedside procedures such as wound care, VAC dressing changes, JP drain management, and (ideally) chest tube monitoring
• Collaborate with attending surgeons and daytime APPs to ensure continuity of care
• Document and monitor progress in EMR system

Requirements:

• Active New Jersey license and CDS
• Minimum 2 years of experience in General Surgery or Surgical Subspecialties
• Experience with wound vacs, JP drains, and surgical floor management
• Willingness to work nights and start under emergency/temporary privileges
