Overview

Kidney Care Centers (KCC) is a leading group of nephrologists in Central New Jersey and the Jersey Shore. KCC formed in 2024 with groups serving the kidney patient population for more than 35 years. Our team provides advanced treatment of kidney disease including transplant, vascular access, hypertension, electrolyte and mineral metabolism, and anemia management. We have 23 providers (18 Nephrologists and 5 Advanced Practitioners) supporting our 11 offices, 15+ dialysis centers, and 10 hospitals across Monmouth, Ocean, and Sussex counties. KCC is hiring for 2 Advanced Practitioners in our Eatontown office to specifically support our in-office CKD population.

Position Summary

The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner works closely with practice physicians to manage the health of nephrology patients. The incumbent must be board certified and a licensed independent practitioner responsible for comprehensive management of patient care in accordance with applicable State and Federal rules and regulations and general standards of care (i.e., assessment of health status, development of differential diagnoses, development and implementation of plans of care and treatment, and patient education). As allowed by the New Jersey scope of practice regulations for Physician Assistants/Nurse Practitioners, this position may include, but not be limited to: dialysis rounding, supporting or holding a chronic kidney disease clinic, hospital rounding, and on-call coverage. The typical schedule will generally be Monday through Friday but may also include occasional weekend call coverage as required for patient care.

Position Responsibilities

  • Strong clinical knowledge and skills in a wide range of contexts, inclusive of experience diagnosing medical problems and developing care plans.
  • Knowledge of patient assessment techniques, including taking medical histories, performing physical examinations, evaluating health status, and managing patient care and compliance with care recommendations.
  • Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and knowledge of medical record documentation.
  • Strong leadership skills and professional efficacy.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to advocate for patients and address their concerns as well as to collaborate with physicians and the care team to improve patient outcomes and the patient experience.
  • Ability to travel for the provision of patient care in various nephrology settings, including clinic offices, dialysis facilities, and hospitals.
  • Ability to work weekends as needed for patient care.

Education / Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree and Completion of a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner accredited program.
  • National Certification with NCCPA or AANPCB required.
  • New Jersey Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner license required.
  • DEA license required.
  • Minimum of two years’ clinical experience in a medical office, hospital or other medical setting is required.
  • Experience in a private physician practice is preferred.
  • Experience with chronic kidney disease and/or end-stage kidney disease patients is preferred but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Base Pay: $109,000.00 – $125,000.00 per year
