Job Overview:

The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner is an advanced practice registered nurse who provides health care to neonates, infants and children up to one year of age,The NNP provides care for critically ill premature and full-term infants with emphasis place on family centered culturally diverse sensitive care,In collaboration with the Neonatologist the NNP has daily responsibility for the assessment and management of patients in high and low acuity,

The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner practices in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team to provide a continuum of primary, acute and or subspecialty healthcare to their patients,

They enhance the quality of care through education and clinical practice utilizing advanced practice, knowledge and research,

Scheduling Requirements:

  • The schedule will vary but include days, nights, weekends and holidays.
  • Shift rotations to NBIMC and TRMC
  • Full time
  • 40 hours

Essential Functions:

  • Manages clinical care of patients in the neonatal specialty area,
  • Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic studies and procedures,
  • Collaborates with healthcare providers to plan and coordinate patient care while promoting diversity, equality and inclusion,
  • Provides counseling and education for families related to the specialty area,
  • Promotes quality care through ongoing assessment and evaluation of patient care outcomes,
  • Supports quality improvement and dissemination of evidence-based practice in the specialty area to all health care providers,
  • Responsible for maintaining current clinical and procedural competence,
  • Maintains compliance with all hospital medical staff, office rules and regulations,
