Responsibilities
- Assist surgeons in cardiothoracic and vascular surgical procedures
- Conduct thorough pre-operative assessments of patients
- Manage post-operative care and monitor patient recovery
- Collaborate with surgical teams to develop patient care plans
- Provide education and support to patients and their families
- Ensure compliance with all healthcare regulations and standards
- Document patient information accurately and timely
- Participate in team meetings and case discussions
Requirements
- Current NP or PA license in the state of practice
- Experience in cardiothoracic or vascular surgery preferred
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities
- Commitment to providing high-quality patient care
- Flexibility to work varying shifts as needed
Schedule: 7a-5p, specific dates
Weeknight and weekend call shifts available
Setting: ICU, PCU, and OR
Annual Volume: 450-500 hearts
First assist and vein harvesting required
Team Structure: 2 surgeons, 4 PAs, 1 NP
Vein Harvesting System: Vasoview Hemopro 2
EMR: Meditech, eCW
Board certification required
Paid travel & expenses
