Job Overview:We are seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant to join our team. As an Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant, you will provide high-quality medical care to patients in emergency situations. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires excellent clinical skills and the ability to make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
Responsibilities:- Provide immediate medical care to patients presenting with acute illnesses or injuries- Perform comprehensive physical examinations and order diagnostic tests as necessary- Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols- Perform procedures such as wound suturing, splinting, and incision and drainage- Provide counseling and education to patients and their families regarding their condition and treatment options- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and efficient patient care- Document all patient encounters accurately and in a timely manner- Adhere to medical standards, protocols, and guidelines
Qualifications:- Medical degree from an accredited medical school- Current state medical license- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, standards, and procedures- Proficiency in medication administration, including intravenous medications- Experience with durable medical equipment (DME) such as ventilators and cardiac monitors- Familiarity with tube feeding, inhalation therapy, and other specialized treatments- Knowledge of ICD-9 coding for accurate documentation and billing purposes- Experience in occupational health, family planning, or health coaching is a plus
