About Juilliard Summer Programs:

Each summer The Juilliard School welcomes a cohort of young artists to live and study at Juilliard’s campus at Lincoln Center in New York City, with world-renowned Juilliard faculty members and guest artists. Juilliard becomes a vibrant summer community of approximately 170 students from across the world. Students participate in daily lessons, master classes, studio classes, rehearsals, and seminars, perform in public recitals at Lincoln Center, and explore iconic New York City music and arts institutions. Juilliard summer program students will leave having connected with mentors and peers who are leaders in the field, and having been prepared for success in college auditions and beyond.

Dates of Temporary Engagement: Fifteen Days from July 6 to July 20, 2024. The person in this position would be an employee during this period. There is no guarantee of employment beyond July 20, 2024.

Role Description:

The person in this position is responsible for the primary health care needs of Juilliard summer program participants, ages 12-18. The 2024 program dates are July 7 – 26, 2024. The Summer Program Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner is required to work from report July 6 to July – 20, 2024 (15 days). Accommodation will be provided in Juilliard’s Samuel B. & David Rose Building Faculty Suites as well as a meal stipend to be used at Juilliard’s on-campus dining facilities.

The salary range for this role is: $1,500.00 – 2,000.00 per week, depending on and not limited to qualifications and prior experience.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Review summer program participants medical histories and immunizations to address restrictions and special needs
  • Assist Camp Director in the initial health screening of summer program participants
  • Diagnose and treat routine illnesses, urgent care issues and potentially life-threatening medical conditions
  • Responsible for distribution and documentation of medications
  • Charting and maintenance of medical log
  • Reporting of medical emergencies, including outbreaks of communicable diseases, and child abuse/allegations, as required to the Department of Health and other appropriate authorities
  • Work collaboratively with other summer program personnel and Health Services staff
  • Communicate with summer program participants’ families regarding illness, injuries, etc.
  • Carry out other duties as assigned
  • Work for 12-hours a day and on call 24 hours daily during summer program session for emergencies

Minimum Requirements:

  • PA/NP Degree and National Certification
  • NYS license
  • BLS certification within 1 year
  • 5 years’ experience in pediatrics, family medicine or urgent care
  • A current certificate in first aid training from a training program acceptable by the NYS Department of Health
  • Must maintain confidentiality of participants in accordance with relevant medical and educational requirements

Preferred:

  • NYS liability insurance
