As we continue to expand our agreements with hoispitals and surgical centers in the New York City and surrounding areas, we are seeking a skilled and compassionate Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) to join our esteemed neurosciences team.

Job Title

Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)

Areas of practice

Neuroscience (including neurosurgery, orthopaedic surgery, pain management, neurology).

Locations

Multiple locations throughout NY and NJ.

Position Summary

The Advanced Practice Provider (NP or PA) will play a vital role in our Neuroscience department, working collaboratively with physicians, surgeons, and a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to our patients. This position offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals with complex neurological conditions.

Position Duties

· Performs thorough patient screenings and clinical assessments to determine, communicate and document appropriate patient treatment plans.

· Performs appropriate history and physical exams with thorough and accurate documentation.

· Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests relative to patient’s specific needs.

· Tracks and schedules subsequent tasks and encounters to ensure efficient continuity of care.

· Delivers daily presentations on patient cases in a collaborative team setting, highlighting key clinical aspects and treatment strategies.

· Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to facilitate continuity of care and optimize patient outcomes.

· Generates new referrals by establishing relationships with social workers, case managers, interdepartmental personnel, and other appropriate professional contacts as applicable.

· Assists with the provision of care in accordance with facility, state, and federal regulations.

· Assists in surgical procedures, providing perioperative care and post-operative management.

· Monitors the effectiveness of interventions, assess outcomes, and modify management plans as necessary.

· Maintains relationships and constant visibility with all appropriate contacts in facilities.

· Educates patients, HCPs, and relevant facility personnel regarding services offered by SBC.

· Assists with the development and maintenance of physician relations.

· Assists with the coordination of discharge planning including education and instructions.

· Maintains accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.

· Participates in quality improvement initiatives and stay updated with advances in the field of neuroscience.

Qualifications

· Master’s degree in Nursing (NP) or Physician Assistant Studies (PA) from an accredited program.

· Current, unrestricted NP or PA license in the state of New York.

· Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA).

· Specialization in Neurosurgery or a related field is highly desirable.

· Prior experience working in a neurosurgical setting is preferred but not mandatory.

· Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills.

· Proficient in performing minor procedures and assisting in surgeries.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.

· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating adaptability and resilience.

· Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Pay: $145,000.00 – $180,000.00 per year

Expected hours: 12 – 40 per week
