Physician Assistant

Job Description:
The Physician Assistant will:
- Provide clinical services and develops and implement the plan of care in conjunction with supervising director when necessary.
- Obtain patient medical history and performs physical examinations and preventative health measures within prescribed guidelines.
- Initiate necessary laboratory and diagnostic tests.
- Interpret laboratory and test results.
- Confer with a supervising medical director(s), clinical staff, and other care providers to ensure optimum patient care and prepare a comprehensive patient care plan. Refers to the appropriate medical director for more complicated medical cases or cases that are not a routine part of a PA’s scope of practice.
- Obtain consultations and referrals as appropriate.
- Respond to patient inquiries, answer, and refer questions to the physician/medical director as appropriate.
- Document all patient care services in the electronic medical record.
- Provide health education counseling to patients and families as appropriate and supports programs for patients and their families.
- Answer questions about the condition and treatment plan.
- Participate in and supports performance improvement and risk management activities.
- Complete required continuous training and education, including practice-specific requirements.
- Demonstrate professional work behavior and comply with organizational policies and procedures and federal and state requirements.
- Work closely with medical directors and clinical staff in a team approach to patient care.
- Respect and protect the patient’s rights to confidentiality and privacy and discloses information only for professional purposes which are in the patient’s best interests with full consideration of their legal rights.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Master’s degree and successful completion of accredited physician assistant program.
- Current licensure as Physician Assistant by the state of New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, and Florida, depending on location.
- Board certification.
- Current BLS and ACLS certification.
- Urgent Care or Hospital/Emergency Room experience is essential
- Must be comfortable seeing the full spectrum of patients in an Urgent Care setting.
- Must be willing to work in multiple locations.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a clinical team.
- Demonstrated professional competence and integrity, and ethical conduct of practice.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and practical conflict resolution skills
- Patient-focused and committed to providing outstanding and compassionate care and service to all patients.
- Strong computer skills and EMR knowledge.
Salary Range $75.00 to $90.00 per hour
