Full Job Description

Duties: Coordinate with nurse supervisor to provide medical triage in person, via phone, and telehealth. Respond to patient calls, provide refills, and pre-authorizations. Order indicated laboratory tests, review all patient and lab data, and follow-up of all abnormal results. Provide medical care to walk-in patients seeking STI testing, PEP, PrEP, and primary HIV care. Serve as primary provider for STAR patients, including in LGBTQ+-specific evening clinic. Function as a teaching professional clinician for STAR Program’s clinical education. Participate in STAR’s interdisciplinary case management plans and quality improvement activities of the STAR Health Center. Participate in STAR Health Center outreach and community education. Qualifications: REQUIRED: NYS licensed nurse practitioner license. PREFERRED: The ideal candidate will have 3 years’ experience in a primary care setting; two years’ experience in the provision of HIV/HCV care, women’s health, and medical care to LGBTQ+ and/or re-entrant populations. Experience in the provision of PrEP/PEP preferred. Bilingual in Spanish/English or Haitian Creole/English. Hours/Days of Week: M-F (schedule & hours TBD), 20-24 hours per week.
