Summary of Duties: Responsibilities include mostly office, however, may also include hospital rounds and assisting in surgery. Urology is an exciting specialty, covering wide range of conditions and patients.
Essential Functions:
- Contributes to physician’s effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range patient care issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing physician directives.
- Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories.
- Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-rays, electrocardiograms, and laboratory studies, interpreting test results.
- Documents patient care services by charting in patient and department records.
- Performs therapeutic procedures by administering injections and immunizations; suturing; managing wounds and infections.
- Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans.
- Perform urological procedures such as catheterization, cystoscopy, and stent removals under the supervision of a urologist.
- Provide counseling and education to patients and their families regarding treatment options, lifestyle modifications, and self-care practices.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Protects patients and employees by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to enhance patient care practices and improve outcomes.
- Stay updated on advancements in urological treatments, procedures, and guidelines.
- Conduct self in accordance with Las Vegas Urology’s employee manual.
- Maintain strictest confidentiality; adhere to all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
Minimum Requirements:
- Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C) / Nurse Practitioner-Certified (NP-C) / APRN
- Prior experience in urology or a related field is preferred.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
