We are seeking a versatile and skilled Physician’s Assistant (PA) to join our team and contribute to our mission in both occupational health and primary care settings.

Job Summary:

The Physician’s Assistant (PA) will provide integrated care in both occupational health and primary care settings. The role involves evaluating, diagnosing, and treating work-related injuries and illnesses, as well as delivering general primary care services. This position requires a strong understanding of occupational health regulations, primary care principles, and the ability to effectively manage diverse patient needs.

Key Responsibilities:

Occupational Health:

  • Clinical Assessment: Perform physical examinations, obtain medical histories, and evaluate work-related injuries and illnesses.
  • Diagnosis and Treatment: Diagnose and treat work-related conditions, including administering injections, performing minor procedures, and prescribing medications.
  • Health Screenings: Conduct pre-employment physicals, drug and alcohol testing, and routine health screenings in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Case Management: Oversee treatment plans for injured employees, coordinate with specialists, track progress, and facilitate return-to-work plans.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to OSHA, DOT, and other occupational health regulations and standards.
  • Education and Training: Educate employees and employers on health and safety practices, injury prevention, and wellness programs.

Primary Care:

  • Patient Care: Provide comprehensive primary care services, including routine check-ups, management of chronic conditions, and acute care for common illnesses and injuries.
  • Diagnosis and Treatment: Diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions, develop treatment plans, and prescribe medications as needed.
  • Preventive Care: Promote preventive care by offering vaccinations, health screenings, and counseling on lifestyle modifications.
  • Patient Management: Develop and implement individualized care plans, monitor patient progress, and make referrals to specialists when necessary.
  • Health Education: Provide education on health maintenance, disease prevention, and wellness strategies to patients.

Administrative Duties:

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and timely medical records, complete necessary documentation, and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to deliver integrated care.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all relevant clinical guidelines, ethical standards, and organizational policies.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Certification: Current certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and state licensure as a Physician Assistant.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in occupational health, primary care, or a related field preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills in both occupational and primary care settings.
  • Knowledge of occupational health regulations and primary care principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work effectively under pressure.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
