Job Title: Physician Assistant – Family Practice
FLSA Status: Exempt Full-Time
JOB SUMMARY:
Fallbrook Family Health Center is actively recruiting for a physician’s assistant who shall provide primary health care and specialized health services patients within our clinic. S/he shall be able to diagnose medical conditions, plan and implement interventions and evaluate patient responses under the direction of physician.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and/or Experience
- Graduate of an American Medical Association (AMA) approved Physician Assistant program;
- Two years clinical experience in a related health care setting preferred; and
- Two years of experience in family practice.
Certificates, Licensure, Registrations
- Currently licensed as a Physician Assistant (PA) in the State of Nebraska;
- Basic Life Support (BLS); and
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work with clinic and electronic medical record (EMR) programs in a timely and efficient manner;
- Ability to work at a level to provide incredible healthcare for each patient seen;
- Ability to help clinic meet requirements for reimbursement; and
- Ability to attain and maintain national certification exam in specialty areas.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assesses plans, prescribes, implements, and evaluates healthcare of individuals using established protocols under the direction of a physician according to the scope of practice.
- Prescribes and modifies the plan of care in collaboration with direction of a physician to achieve desired outcomes, according to the PA scope of practice.
- Evaluates the processes and outcomes of patient care through following evidence-based practices, to enhance the delivery of above reproach healthcare in the most cost-effective manner to the patient.
- Ensures s/he takes accountability for professional development within PA role by identifying educational opportunities to advance knowledge and skills in order to ensure safe and up-to-date patient practice.
- Is familiar and comfortable using a wide range of medical technology and equipment.
- Adheres to state and federal guidelines, as it pertains to maintaining accurate patient health information and ensuring it is documented within a timely basis.
- Able to communicate effectively with patients, families, employees, and other healthcare professionals, as well as to be confident to market services within the surrounding communities.
- Shall always maintain a professional attitude when working with patients, family members, employees, other healthcare providers, and the public.
