Pay: Starting at 26.00 (DOE)

The Vocational Training Center (VTC) of Fargo, ND is now searching for a candidate to join our team as a part-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). This position works under the supervision and delegation of the Registered Nurse (RN) in accordance with North Dakota Practice Act and DD licensing requirements.
Responsibilities of this position will include:
  • Supporting the RN in implementing medication delegation per ND Board of Nursing Standards, including observing DSP medication administration and reporting competency outcomes.
  • Conducting medication certification and recertification classes for VTC staff using approved curriculum.
  • Monitoring medication storage, documentation, and MAR compliance in all DD licensed programs and assisting with corrective action plans when practices fall out of compliance.
  • Providing routine nursing recommendations, performing initial nursing assessments within LPN scope of practice, and notifying the RN of significant findings or changes in condition.
  • Assisting with ensuring preventive and routine medical appointments are scheduled and coordinating with health care providers or activating emergency medical services when necessary.
  • Participating as an active member of the interdisciplinary team to support person-centered service plans of individuals supported.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Current North Dakota LPN license (unencumbered)
  • Current driver’s license
  • Achieve certification in the ND Community Staff Training Program through Minot State University within the first 18 months of employment
  • Satisfactory results for all required background checks.
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • One year experience in provision of direct patient care in hospital or related facility.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities.
