Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team, providing high-quality patient care across diverse medical settings. In this vital role, you will collaborate closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive clinical services, perform physical examinations, and assist in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. Your expertise will help ensure efficient patient assessments, accurate documentation, and effective treatment plans. Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments including intake, vital signs, and physical examinations to establish accurate diagnoses.
  • Assist physicians with diagnostic evaluations, medical procedures, and treatment plans across various specialties such as emergency medicine, critical care, primary care, and hospital medicine.
  • Prescribe medications in accordance with state regulations and collaborative practice agreements while adhering to HIPAA and DEA regulations.
  • Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems like Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks) for accurate documentation of patient encounters, medical records, and data collection.
  • Perform clinical procedures including suturing, injection administration (e.g., botulinum toxin treatments), phlebotomy, and basic life support during emergencies.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals on patient care strategies, participate in clinical research or trials, and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide patient education on health coaching, medication management, pain control, infection prevention, and post-discharge instructions.

Qualifications

  • Valid Physician Assistant license with current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Demonstrated experience in hospital settings such as ICU, emergency room, trauma centers (Level I or II), or outpatient clinics with exposure to acute care environments.
  • Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks; familiarity with ICD-9/10 coding and CPT coding for billing purposes.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, diagnostic evaluation techniques, and pharmacology.
  • Experience performing procedures such as suturing, ventilator management in ICU/PICU settings, airway management, dialysis access care, and radiation therapy is preferred.
  • Critical care experience including ventilator management or ICU experience is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as urgent care or emergency medicine; triage skills are essential.
  • Knowledge of infectious disease care protocols and hospital infection control standards.
  • Excellent client communication skills with a focus on compassionate patient care; ability to collaborate seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Additional qualifications include experience with telehealth platforms, clinical trials participation, hospice & palliative medicine knowledge, and familiarity with ICD coding standards.

Pay: $60.00 – $65.00 per hour
