Vine Counseling & Associates is a growing outpatient mental health practice committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based care to children, adolescents, and adults throughout North Carolina. We are expanding our psychiatric services to offer integrated medication management alongside high-quality psychotherapy, creating a collaborative, client-centered approach to mental wellness.

Position Summary

Vine Counseling & Associates is seeking a compassionate and experienced Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) or Physician Assistant (PA-C) to provide comprehensive psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing treatment for children, adolescents, and adults.

The ideal candidate is passionate about providing high-quality psychiatric care, enjoys collaborating with therapists, and is committed to delivering culturally responsive, trauma-informed services.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and diagnostic assessments.
  • Diagnose mental health disorders utilizing DSM-5-TR criteria.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans in collaboration with therapists and clients.
  • Prescribe, monitor, and adjust psychiatric medications as clinically appropriate.
  • Provide medication management follow-up appointments.
  • Educate clients and families regarding diagnoses, medications, treatment options, side effects, and expected outcomes.
  • Collaborate with therapists, primary care providers, schools, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation using the electronic health record (EHR).
  • Complete treatment plans, progress notes, and required documentation within established timeframes.
  • Participate in clinical consultation and interdisciplinary team meetings.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, North Carolina regulations, and professional ethical standards.
  • Stay current with evidence-based psychiatric treatment practices through continuing education.

Qualifications Required:

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program
  • Current North Carolina license in good standing.
  • PMHNP-BC or PA-C certification
  • Current DEA registration and prescriptive authority.
  • Ability to independently assess, diagnose, and manage psychiatric conditions.
  • Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records.

Preferred

  • 2+ years of outpatient psychiatric experience.
  • Experience treating children, adolescents, and adults.
  • Experience providing telepsychiatry services.
