Job OverviewJoin our dynamic healthcare team as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, where you will play a vital role in helping patients regain independence and improve their quality of life. In this energetic and rewarding position, you will work closely with licensed occupational therapists to implement personalized care plans across diverse settings, including inpatient hospitals, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, and home health environments. Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and well-being
- Support the implementation of individualized care plans designed by occupational therapists, ensuring patient progress and safety
- Help facilitate therapy sessions in various settings including acute care, outpatient clinics, and home health visits
- Contribute to patient assessments by observing responses and providing feedback to the supervising therapist
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, adaptive techniques, and safety measures for home or community settings
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities, progress notes, and treatment records in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care tailored to specific needs such as geriatrics, pediatrics, or occupational health
Skills
- Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to occupational therapy practices
- Familiarity with medical terminology used in healthcare settings including inpatient, outpatient, and skilled nursing facilities
- Experience assisting with ADLs across diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatrics
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as acute care units or outpatient clinics
- Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
- Knowledge of care planning processes and ability to support therapy goals within established protocols
- Prior experience in home health or clinic settings is highly desirable for a seamless transition into this role
Pay: $42.00 – $45.00 per hour
