Job OverviewJoin our dynamic healthcare team as an Occupational Therapy Assistant, where you will play a vital role in helping patients regain independence and improve their quality of life. Duties

• Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and well-being
• Support the implementation of individualized care plans designed by occupational therapists, ensuring patient progress and safety
• Help facilitate therapy sessions in various settings including acute care, outpatient clinics, and home health visits
• Contribute to patient assessments by observing responses and providing feedback to the supervising therapist
• Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, adaptive techniques, and safety measures for home or community settings
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care activities, progress notes, and treatment records in compliance with healthcare regulations
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care tailored to specific needs such as geriatrics, pediatrics, or occupational health

Skills

• Strong knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to occupational therapy practices
• Familiarity with medical terminology used in healthcare settings including inpatient, outpatient, and skilled nursing facilities
• Experience assisting with ADLs across diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatrics
• Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as acute care units or outpatient clinics
• Excellent communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
• Knowledge of care planning processes and ability to support therapy goals within established protocols
• Prior experience in home health or clinic settings is highly desirable for a seamless transition into this role

Pay: $42.00 – $45.00 per hour
