Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring at least 1 year of IR experience and active NC or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • 10-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week, with no rotation between weekdays and weekends — shift assignment is consistent per contract terms
  • Interventional Radiology unit serving adults and pediatrics from the ED, ICUs, nursing units, and outpatient settings across a full spectrum of radiology exams and diagnoses
  • Average of 50–60 patients per day in workup and recovery
  • On-call is required and distributed on a fair rotation shared equally among full-time, part-time, PRN, and travel staff
  • No floating required
  • EMR: Epic
  • Equipment includes iSTAT and point-of-care (POC) devices

Requirements

  • Active NC or compact RN license required
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of core IR or relevant radiology nursing experience, with most recent experience within the last year
  • Ability to work confidently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude
  • Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
  • Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

Additional Information

  • Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated teaching hospital with additional designations as a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center
  • Department is supported by a lead tech, modality supervisor, and Imaging Manager; team ranges from new grads to long-tenured staff
  • Orientation consists of a facility and departmental tour with introductions, plus approximately 5 days of departmental orientation (flexible based on traveler needs)
  • Navy blue scrubs are required for nursing staff
  • Free parking is available on-site across multiple parking decks
  • Holiday coverage is expected unless time off is approved in advance by the manager
  • RTO requires manager approval
  • Former employees of any AHSE facility must have been separated from a permanent position for at least 1 year before being considered
