Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated teaching hospital, requiring at least 1 year of IR experience and active NC or compact RN licensure.
Details
- 10-hour day shifts, 40 hours per week, with no rotation between weekdays and weekends — shift assignment is consistent per contract terms
- Interventional Radiology unit serving adults and pediatrics from the ED, ICUs, nursing units, and outpatient settings across a full spectrum of radiology exams and diagnoses
- Average of 50–60 patients per day in workup and recovery
- On-call is required and distributed on a fair rotation shared equally among full-time, part-time, PRN, and travel staff
- No floating required
- EMR: Epic
- Equipment includes iSTAT and point-of-care (POC) devices
Requirements
- Active NC or compact RN license required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 1 year of core IR or relevant radiology nursing experience, with most recent experience within the last year
- Ability to work confidently in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented attitude
- Last 4 digits of SSN and full date of birth required for consideration
- Minimum of 1 professional reference dated within the past year from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible

- Level I Trauma Center, Magnet-designated teaching hospital with additional designations as a Chest Pain Center and Stroke Center
- Department is supported by a lead tech, modality supervisor, and Imaging Manager; team ranges from new grads to long-tenured staff
- Orientation consists of a facility and departmental tour with introductions, plus approximately 5 days of departmental orientation (flexible based on traveler needs)
- Navy blue scrubs are required for nursing staff
- Free parking is available on-site across multiple parking decks
- Holiday coverage is expected unless time off is approved in advance by the manager
- RTO requires manager approval
- Former employees of any AHSE facility must have been separated from a permanent position for at least 1 year before being considered
