Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) – Cary Endocrine & Diabetes Center
Cary Endocrine & Diabetes Center is seeking a skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our specialized healthcare team. As a CMA in our center, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients with endocrine and diabetes-related conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Perform clinical duties, including taking patient vital signs, documenting medical histories, and preparing patients for examinations or procedures.
- Administer medications as directed by physicians or advanced practice providers specialized in endocrinology.
- Administer and manage prior authorization process for various types of prescription.
- Assist providers with IV therapies.
- Conduct patient assessments and assist with various diagnostic procedures specific to endocrinology such as thyroid ultrasounds, continuous glucose monitoring (CGM), or insulin pump management.
- Coordinate patient care by ensuring timely communication of test results and medications.
- Provide patient education on disease management strategies, lifestyle modifications, medication administration techniques (if applicable), and self-monitoring of blood glucose levels.
- Assist with the maintenance of medical records ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program.
- IV line insertion experience is highly preferred.
- Proven experience working as a Certified Medical Assistant, preferably within an endocrinology or diabetes-focused practice.
- Proficient in taking accurate vital signs measurements and performing basic clinical procedures.
- Solid knowledge of endocrine disorders such as diabetes mellitus types 1 and 2, thyroid disorders (hypo/hyperthyroidism), adrenal gland disorders (e.g., Addison’s disease), pituitary gland disorders (e.g., growth hormone deficiency) is a plus.
- Familiarity with common medications used in managing endocrine conditions including insulin types/brands and oral antidiabetic agents is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with patients who have varying levels of health literacy regarding their condition management.

Salary: $17.00 – $23.00 per hour depending on experience
