Job Description

The School of Medicine is excited to announce an opening for a Physician Assistant in the Hospitalist Division of the Department of Medicine. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled professional to join our patient-centered care team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide independent medical support services on inpatient floors, collaborating with physicians and hospital staff to promote team-based care.
  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments, demonstrating autonomy and expertise in diagnosing and treating health issues.
  • Order and perform diagnostic procedures; monitor patient conditions, lab values, and diagnostic results to develop effective treatment goals.
  • Collaborate with MDs on complex cases as outlined in the collaborative agreement.
  • Serve as a resource for patients, families, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals in your area of expertise.
  • Obtain and document thorough histories and physical exams, effectively communicating relevant medical information to surgeons and physicians.
  • Identify trends in patient care and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in developing and implementing standards for structure, process, and outcomes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Shift

Shift Type: 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday through Friday with the ability to be flexible when needs arise Office/Administrative Hours: No – Position will not have Office/Admin Hours Flexibility for Alternative Schedules: No

Minimum Qualifications

Physicians Assistant (PA) licensure by the Missouri State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts.

Preferred Qualifications

Specialty certificate by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) in Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Hospital Medicine, Nephrology, Orthopaedic Surgery, Pediatrics, or Psychiatry. Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.

Education: Previous Hospitalist experience

Anticipated Hiring Range

Hiring Range: $90,251.20 – $136,177 Grade: PAT-12 University Title: PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT SPECIALTY CARE Internal applicants can determine their university title by accessing the Talent Profile tile in myHR.
