Job Description

Department of Ophthalmology is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Physician Assistant- Specialty Care to join our team. The successful candidate will serve as the first assist in the Operating Room for Ophthalmology surgeons and play a key role in providing comprehensive patient care in both clinic and surgical settings.

Job Duties Include:

o Collaborative Patient Care: Work closely with ophthalmologists to provide comprehensive patient care, including preparing patients for procedures, taking medical histories, conducting pre-operative assessments, and assisting in outpatient procedures. o Postoperative Care: Provide detailed postoperative care by educating patients on procedures, treatments, and recovery plans, ensuring they understand the next steps in their recovery. o Follow-up Visits: Manage patient follow-up visits, monitor recovery progress, and document patient interactions efficiently in Electronic Health Records (EHR). o Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other medical staff, including physicians, nurses, and administrative teams, to ensure smooth clinic operations. o Continuous Learning: Stay current on best practices in related specialties to support excellent patient care.

Shift

Shift Type: Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Minimum Qualifications

Physicians Assistant (PA) licensure by the Missouri State Board of Registration for the Healing Arts.

Preferred Qualifications

Credentials: Current and valid Physician Assistant (PA) license in the state of MO required. Years of Experience: At Least 2 years in a surgical or ophthalmology setting is preferred though new graduates with relevant clinical rotations will be considered.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Hiring Range: $90,251 – $147,285 Grade: PAT-012 University Title: PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT SPECIALTY CARE Internal applicants can determine their university title by accessing the Talent Profile tile in myHR.
