Woodland Recovery Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) to join our multidisciplinary team. This role is vital to providing high-quality care for patients in their recovery journey. The PA will work collaboratively with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive, patient-centered treatment plans for individuals facing substance use disorders and associated health concerns.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient evaluations, including history taking, physical exams, and mental health assessments.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with the medical team.
- Prescribe medications, including MAT (Medication-Assisted Treatment), and adjust as necessary within the scope of practice.
- Provide counseling on lifestyle changes, relapse prevention, and chronic disease management.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress, adjusting care plans as needed to support recovery goals.
- Collaborate with therapists and case managers to address the medical and psychosocial needs of patients.
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records in compliance with all regulatory and institutional standards.
- Assist in crisis intervention and support acute care situations when necessary.
- Educate patients and families about recovery processes, potential challenges, and available resources.
- Stay current on best practices and emerging treatments in addiction medicine.
Qualifications:
- Education: Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Licensure: Current and unrestricted Physician Assistant license in the state of Mississippi.
- Certification: National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification required.
- Experience:
- At least 2 years of clinical experience (preferred experience in addiction medicine, behavioral health, or primary care).
- Knowledge of MAT protocols and addiction treatment models is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-based, multidisciplinary environment.
- Compassionate and non-judgmental approach to patient care.
- Proficiency in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
