Job Description:

Principle Responsibilities:

• Completes comprehensive patient assessments
• Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness
• Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician
• Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment
• Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care

Required Qualifications:

• Master’s degree – Completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.

Preferred Qualifications:

• New graduates may be considered. Prefer a minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiology or ICU.

Licenses/Certifications:

• Master’s degree completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program required
• Certification as a Physician Assistant – NCCPA -National Commission Certification of Physician Assistants upon hire required or Certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC) – American Nurse Credentialing Center or (AANP) American Association for Nurse Practitioners required upon hire
• Licensed Registered Nurse – MN Board of Nursing required upon hire (NP candidates)
• Active MN NP/PA license (or ability to obtain).
• BLS certification required with in 180 days of hire.
• Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI).
• Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges.

Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute is seeking a Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider to join the practice based at United Hospital in St. Paul.

• 1.0 position. 40 hours per week
• 10 hour work days
• Inpatient and Outpatient position
• Focus on heart failure
• Position includes weekend rounding in the hospital approximately 3-4 weekends per year for general cardiology
• EMR: Epic is one of the most comprehensive electronic health record (EHR) systems in the nation.
