  • Practice Detail: University Orthopaedic Specialists in Rochester, Michigan is seeking a Physician Assistant due to growth. This is an employed opportunity with Ascension Medical Group. The five-physician orthopaedic surgery group consists of surgeons specializing in foot/ankle, joints, spine and sports medicine.

Ascension Medical Group University Orthopaedic Specialists is looking for a Certified Physician Assistant to join their busy practice in Rochester, Michigan.

Position Highlights:

  • Practice has a newly renovated clinic and is looking to expand their group.
  • 22 exam rooms, x-ray and ~ 325 outpatient visits weekly.
  • Office procedures include casting, c-arm, ultrasound, PRP, stem cell and HA injections.
  • Office hours are Monday – Friday from 7:30 a.m.- 5:00 p.m.
  • Practice has hospital affiliations with Henry Ford Rochester Hospital, Henry Ford Warren Hospital and Henry Ford St. John Hospital.
  • Surgery block time available.

  • Fully accredited teaching hospital offering residency programs in affiliation with Wayne State University School of Medicine
  • Teaching campus for nurses from Oakland University School of Nursing

Responsibilities:

  • See patients in the outpatient clinic, hospital rounding and serves as 1st Assist in the OR.

Provides direct diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive health care services under the supervision of a physician. Responsibilities: Obtains patient history and performs assessment. Orders, performs and interprets diagnostic procedures.| Provides and documents direct treatment and management of health conditions.| Provides counseling and education of patients and their families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options and community resources.| Performs preventative health assessments, screening, immunizations and care.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire, but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA.
  • Physician Assistant credentialed from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Physician Assistant with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board Physician Assistants Task Force obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
  • Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.

Education:

  • Graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.

Work Experience:

  • 1 year of experience as a Physician Assistant in Orthopedic Surgery preferred.
