Responsibilities
The department of Outpatient Hematology is seeking candidates who are innovative, collaborative, compassionate and committed to providing the highest quality care to patients. In Outpatient Hematology, you will develop expertise within our comprehensive, supportive orientation process. You will be trained to work autonomously in a supportive team environment with other APPs, consultants, fellows, nurses, pharmacists, clinical research coordinators, and other support staff.
In the Division of Hematology, you will benefit from professional growth opportunities to participate in research, quality improvement projects, and pursue leadership and development through academic rank. You will enjoy opportunities to educate and mentor students and other colleagues by serving as a preceptor, participating in journal club, and providing poster and oral presentations within and outside of Mayo Clinic.
APPs are an integral part of the patient’s journey in the Division of Hematology. This is an opportunity to join a group of outstanding APPs to help manage patients in close collaboration with teams that include Hematology consultants, RNs, pharmacists, clinical research coordinators, and other support staff.
Outpatient Hematology Dysproteinemia In this position, you will care for adult patients with dysproteinemia (myeloma, amyloidosis, Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia, MGUS, and other plasma cell disorders). Your role will include comprehensive patient assessment, ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and radiologic exams, diagnosis, prognostic interpretation, and ordering treatment per cutting edge clinical trial therapy as well as standard of care. You will also care for patients treated with cellular therapies such as CAR-T cell therapy and bispecific antibody therapies. You will be essential in management of treatment side effects and complications from disease process. Care of patients in this outpatient setting will range from asymptomatic patients on observation watching for disease progression, managing patients on active therapy, follow up of previously treated patients, to end of life discussions.
Outpatient Hematology Lymphoma In this position, you will care for adult patients with Lymphoma. Your role will include comprehensive patient assessment, ordering and interpreting laboratory tests and radiologic exams, diagnosis, prognostic interpretation, and ordering treatment per cutting edge clinical trial therapy as well as standard of care. You will also care for patients treated with cellular therapies such as CAR-T cell therapy and bispecific antibody therapies. Outpatient Hematology Chronic Myeloid Group In this position, you will care for adult patients with chronic myeloid hematologic diseases, that include myeloproliferative neoplasms and myelodysplastic syndromes. Your role will include comprehensive patient assessment, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, prescription of pharmacological agents and treatments, management of treatment-related toxicities, patient education, and follow up care. Responsibilities will include assessment for disease regression/progression/recurrence, evaluation for clinical trial enrollment and end-of-life discussion. APPs are an integral part of the patient’s journey in the Division of Hematology. Our schedules are collaboratively built within our NPPA team, allowing for valued off-time for personal pursuits, development, and life/work balance.

Total Compensation: CME Benefit-eligible employees (50-100% FTE) receive up to 7 trip days (commensurate with time away from practice as approved off the schedule by a supervisor) and an annual allotment of $4,400.

Relocation
- Relocation is allotted for candidates 70 or more miles away from Rochester, MN.

Qualifications
Masters prepared graduate of an accredited school of nursing and Nurse Practitioner program. Current Minnesota RN license and certification as a FNP, ANP or ACNP. DNP preferred.
Or graduate of accredited Physician Assistant program with current PA certification by NCCPA and registration as a PA by the Minnesota State Board of Medical Practice.
Must be eligible for DEA registration. BLS certification required.
Strong written and oral communication skills are required. Ability to maintain long-term professional and compassionate relationships with patients, family, and colleagues. Must have demonstrated skill in working collaboratively with all members of the healthcare team.
Hematology experience as an APP or completion of APP Hematology fellowship preferred.
