Hennepin Healthcare has an opportunity for a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in our Inpatient Psychiatry Unit. This is a full-time (1.0 FTE) position working Monday-Friday days.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Provide direct Psychiatric care to assigned patients on the Inpatient Unit
  • Work collaboratively and in consultation with the medical staff as indicated by the patient’s health status and medical condition
  • Assess patients and prescribe appropriate medications according to prescribing authority protocol
  • Order, conduct, and interpret tests

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Mental Health Nursing or Physician Assistant studies from an accredited institution
  • Current Minnesota license to practice as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (or eligibility)
  • If APRN, certification in Psychiatry by an agency authorized to certify professional nurses in advanced practice
  • Completion of mandatory psychopharmacological coursework

Preferred Qualification:

  • Previous experience working in Mental Health
