Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) to join our dynamic Otolaryngology team. The PA will work alongside our skilled Otolaryngologists (ENT specialists) to provide high-quality care to patients with a wide range of ear, nose, throat, and head & neck conditions. The ideal candidate will have experience in Otolaryngology or a strong interest in this specialty, along with the ability to perform clinical assessments, develop treatment plans, assist in surgeries, and offer patient education and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Care:
  • Perform patient assessments, including physical exams and history taking.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests (e.g., audiology exams, imaging, lab work).
  • Develop and implement treatment plans for conditions such as hearing loss, sinus disorders, sleep apnea, thyroid issues, head & neck cancers, allergies, and voice disorders.
  • Prescribe medications and manage ongoing treatments for chronic ENT conditions.
  • Conduct patient counseling and provide education on medical conditions, procedures, and post-operative care.
  • Collaborate with otolaryngologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in the management of patient care.
  • Procedures & Surgery Assistance:
  • Perform or assist in a variety of office-based procedures (e.g., nasal endoscopy, biopsy, drainage of abscesses).
  • Assist with surgical procedures in the operating room, including pre-operative preparation, intra-operative assistance, and post-operative care.
  • Patient Follow-Up:
  • Conduct post-operative follow-up visits to monitor recovery and manage any complications.
  • Review lab and test results with patients, and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
  • Provide continuous care and support for patients undergoing long-term treatment (e.g., chronic ear infections, tonsillitis).
  • Documentation & Communication:
  • Document all patient encounters in electronic health records (EHR) with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical staff regarding diagnoses, treatment options, and follow-up care.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and care coordination.

Qualifications:

  • Education & Certification:
  • Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
  • Current Physician Assistant (PA) license in Minnesota.
  • Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
  • Active Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license or ability to procure one.
  • BLS/ACLS certification (or ability to obtain upon hire).
  • Experience:
  • Prior experience in Otolaryngology (ENT) or related field preferred but not required.
  • Strong clinical knowledge in diagnosing and treating ENT conditions preferred.
  • Experience assisting in surgical procedures and performing office-based procedures.
  • Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent patient care and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Comfort with using Electronic Health Records (EHR) and other medical software systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide compassionate, efficient care.

Work Environment:

  • Office and clinical settings, with regular patient interactions.
  • On-call responsibilities may be required, depending on the practice’s needs.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to lift and assist patients when necessary.
  • Manual dexterity to perform clinical procedures and use medical equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $125,408.00 – $141,290.00 per year
