Job OverviewWe are seeking a skilled and compassionate Physician Assistant (PA) with experience in Gastroenterology to join our dynamic medical team. The ideal candidate will be proficient in assessing and managing a wide range of gastrointestinal conditions and committed to delivering exceptional patient-centered care. This role involves working closely with gastroenterologists and other healthcare professionals in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct morning hospital rounds to cover for the gastroenterologist , including patient assessments, order reviews, and care coordination.
  • See patients in the clinic during the afternoon at one of our multiple clinic locations, based on a rotating schedule.
  • Conduct thorough patient histories and physical exams focused on gastrointestinal issues.
  • Manage and monitor treatment plans for chronic and acute GI conditions under physician supervision.
  • Participate in triage and coordination of care for urgent GI consults and follow-up.
  • Maintain strict compliance with HIPAA regulations and ensure patient confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other specialists in developing and executing comprehensive care plans.
  • Participate in shared call coverage with the GI physician one weekend per month.
  • Remain current on advancements in gastroenterology through continuing education and, if applicable, participation in clinical research.

ExperienceCandidates should possess the following skills and experience:

  • Certified Physician Assistant (PA-C) with active state licensure.
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience in gastroenterology or a related internal medicine subspecialty preferred.
  • Proficient in ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding for accurate medical billing.
  • Background in hospital medicine, emergency medicine, or internal medicine is preferred.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and patient education skills.
  • Able to adapt to a flexible schedule and travel between clinic locations as needed.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $90,000.00 per year
