Job Summary

Position/Title : Physician Assistant – Certified (PA-C) / FULL TIME

Educational Requirements : Current graduate of an approved physician assistant program. National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and passing the physician assistant national certifying examination (PANCE). Current registration as a PA-C within the state of Minnesota.

Prior Work Experience : Once certified and licensed, no experience is required, however, direct surgical experience is preferred.

General Description : The PA-C will work with the surgeons and staff at both hospital and clinic facilities to provide quality clinic, outpatient and inpatient surgical care. This includes providing assistance in surgery, completing patient histories and physical examinations, consultations, ordering and interpreting laboratory tests, diagnosing and treating illness, and writing prescriptions according to the PA delegation agreement.

Major Duties and Functions:

  • Responsible for assisting surgeons in surgical procedures
  • Round on in-hospital patients and perform new consultations
  • Clinic facility outpatient services
  • Documentation within EHR
  • Communication with patients and their families
  • Discharge planning in collaboration with other health care professionals
  • Continuous quality improvement in the delivery of general medical/surgical care
  • Strive to provide quality, cost effective, patient centered care

Special Knowledge or Skills :

  • Strong interpersonal problem-solving, verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to simultaneously handle multiple projects and responsibilities.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Strong work ethic and excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to coordinate work effort to enhance the performance of surgeons and other clinic/hospital staff.
  • Maturity and professional appearance.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00 – $100,000.00 per year
