Fairview Health Services is seeking a Part-Time (0.6 FTE/48 hours per pay period) Pain Management Physician Assistant to join our growing comprehensive interdisciplinary team in the inpatient Pain Management department at Ridges Hospital in Burnsville, MN.

Fairview Health Services is a large interdisciplinary network with a clinical staff of physicians, advanced practice providers, & pharmacists.. Our inpatient pain team manages a wide range of acute and chronic pain conditions, including postoperative pain, musculoskeletal pain, neuropathic pain, visceral pain, headaches, cancer pain, and pain related to serious medical conditions.

Position Overview:
  • Inpatient Pain Management: Focus on non-interventional pain management within the hospital setting.
  • Training Opportunities: Training for procedures such as trigger point injections, occipital nerve blocks is available and encouraged to allow for independent practice.
  • Expertise Required: Skilled in the assessment and management of chronic pain with special expertise in behavioral, occupational, and physical reconditioning aspects of pain management. Acute care experience.
  • Support System: Ability to work independently in a hospital environment with virtual access to support from other members of the provider team.
Practice Details:
  • Integrated EMR: We use a fully integrated Electronic Medical Record (EPIC) system.
  • Referral Base: Inpatient
  • Schedule: Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. No weekends, No call.

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • BC/BE through NCCPA.
  • Licensed or ability to obtain a PA license with prescriptive authority through the Minnesota Board of Medical Practice.
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain DEA certification for the State of Minnesota.
  • Meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.
