Full Job Description

Overview

Focus Clinic is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Physician Assistant (PA) to join our multidisciplinary team caring for children, adolescents, and young adults with ADHD, learning differences, and related behavioral and executive functioning challenges. This role blends evidence-based medical care with a whole-child, strengths-based approach, partnering closely with families and collaborating with psychologists, therapists, and educational advocates to deliver high-quality, individualized treatment.

The ideal candidate is clinically experienced, highly collaborative, and energized by working in an innovative, patient-centered, and faith-based setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive medical evaluations for pediatric and adolescent patients presenting with ADHD, executive functioning concerns, anxiety, mood symptoms, sleep issues, and related conditions.
  • Provide ADHD medication management and follow-up care using best-practice prescribing and monitoring protocols.
  • Assess for common contributing or co-occurring factors (sleep disruption, nutrition concerns, medical comorbidities, developmental history, family dynamics, school performance, and behavioral patterns).
  • Partner with families to create clear, practical treatment plans that may include behavioral strategies, therapy/coaching support, school accommodations (IEP/504), neurofeedback, cognitive therapy, and lifestyle interventions.
  • Collaborate closely with psychologists, therapists, and educational advocates to coordinate care and support treatment continuity.
  • Review and incorporate diagnostic data (clinical history, rating scales, relevant testing results, and clinic-based assessments as applicable) into medical decision-making.
  • Provide patient and parent education on treatment options, risks/benefits, expectations, and follow-up planning.
  • Maintain accurate, AI-assisted documentation that meets medical-legal, insurance, and billing standards.
  • Participate in ongoing clinical training, quality improvement initiatives, and team meetings to stay aligned with clinic values and care models.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program (Master’s level).
  • Current Michigan PA license in good standing (or eligible to obtain).
  • National certification (NCCPA) and active DEA license (or eligible to obtain).
  • Experience in pediatrics, family medicine, psychiatry, or behavioral health preferred.
  • Strong clinical reasoning skills and comfort managing ADHD and common comorbidities (anxiety, depression, sleep concerns, tic disorders, learning differences).
  • Commitment to conservative, thoughtful medication practices within a broader, comprehensive treatment plan.
  • Eligible and willing to become credentialed with insurance panels.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to build trust with children, teens, and parents.
  • Team-first mindset with a commitment to mission-driven care in a faith-based environment.

Why Join Focus Clinic?

  • Deliver meaningful, individualized care to kids and families navigating ADHD and learning challenges.
  • Work alongside a supportive, mission-focused team that values excellence, compassion, and collaboration.
  • Practice in a model where medication is one part of a broader whole-child plan—supported by psychological, educational, and integrative services.
  • Participate in building innovative clinical programs that improve outcomes for families.
  • Ongoing mentorship, professional development, and team-based learning opportunities.
  • A values-driven culture that prioritizes both clinical quality and human connection.
