We are looking for a Physician Assistant to join the Center for Vein Restoration (CVR) team for our Portage and Wyoming Clinic locations. This is a wonderful opportunity to work independently as a clinical leader in a vein clinic. The position also provides a unique opportunity to perform venous procedures in an office-based setting. The job is very rewarding as patients feel relief soon after having a procedure. Besides procedures, the PA will also be responsible for seeing new patient consultations and follow-up visits. You will be fully supported with knowledgeable and experienced staff. The nursing staff, in particular, supports the provider in many different ways, such as acting as a scribe and educating patients. In addition, the EMR system used by CVR is physician-friendly and custom-designed for a vein practice, allowing you to make the best use of your time while in the clinic.
Schedule:
- Tuesday – CVR Portage Clinic
- Wednesday – CVR Wyoming Clinic
- Two 10-hour shifts
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Performs in medical venous procedures
- Contributes to physician’s effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range patient care issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations; recommending options and courses of action; implementing physician directives
- Assesses patient health by interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; obtaining, updating, and studying medical histories
- Determines abnormal conditions by administering or ordering diagnostic tests; identify abnormal results and bring these to the attention of the attending physician
- Works closely with Nursing, Surgical and Vascular Lab Staff
- Provides continuity of care by developing and implementing patient management plans under the direction of the attending physician.
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Formulates a multimodality treatment strategy for the patients venous insufficiency under the direction of the attending physician.
- Educates patients on treatment options, recommendations of the attending physician and assists patient in scheduling treatments
- Participates in telephone communication with patients as needed
- Creates a letter of medical necessity when required by patient insurance company
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal and professional requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
- Be involved with all continuity of care initiatives, including one month, six month and annual follow ups
- Maintain accurate and detailed reports and records; complete all work within established time requirements
- Train new clinical staff as needed
- Work together with the team members at the center(s) to reach center goals
- Assist in community events CVR sponsors as needed
- Attend periodic team meetings
- Process medical instruments and medical waste per CVR standards
- Adhere to all infection control, universal precautions and safety policies
- Utilize appropriate customer service skills during interactions with patients, physicians visitors, staff, and other personnel
- Other duties as assigned by management, or clinical director
Minimum Requirements:
- Must be licensed Physician Assistant
- Must have reliable transportation
- Prior experience with procedures is a plus, including but not limited to dermatology, emergency medicine, cardiovascular surgery, and interventional radiology
