Required:
Three years of experience in clinical practice as a Physician Assistant
Current National Commission on Certification of PAs (NCCPA) certification
Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Studies
Preferred:
Prior teaching, scholarship, and/or research experience at the professional level in either academia or through clinical experience

School/College & Department/Program Summary
Essential Functions:
Serve as a Principal Faculty member of the OU MPAS Program through the following duties, as assigned by the Program Director
Provide student instruction; Evaluate student performance; Provide academic counseling of students; Assure the availability of remedial instruction; Design, implement, coordinate, and evaluate the curriculum; Evaluate the MPAS Program. Develop, review and revise as necessary the mission statement, goals and competencies of the program; Select applicants for admission to the MPAS program.
Serve as Assistant/Associate Professor of Practice in the OU MPAS Program through the following, additional duties, as assigned by the Department Chair:
Communication and advancement of the strategic plan and initiatives of the University, School, and Department, including championing the commitment to Diversity and Inclusion and fostering an environment where all members of the university community can thrive; Representation of the program on department-, school-, and university-level committees and in community service activities; Actively participate in local, regional, and national PA educational and professional organizations as time provides; Maintain applicable professional certification; Support and participate in professional development opportunities and scholarly activities ; Maintain a collegial learning and working environment for the faculty, staff, students, community partners, and other stakeholders; Assist in the upholding of current and development of new Department and Program policies and procedures
The School of Health Sciences serves over 2000 undergraduate, masters, doctoral, and post-professional students through a singular model of advancing community-engaged translational relationships, connecting theory to best practices in four thematic areas. Clinical and Diagnostic Sciences – programs include medical laboratory science, histotechnology, radiologic technology, nuclear medicine, pre-clinical professions, as well as master of science programs being developed in both physician assistant and CDS. Human Movement Science – the doctor of physical therapy, and the master of exercise science programs offer post-professional certificates and support undergraduate health sciences program concentrations. Public and Environmental Wellness – comprehensive programs consist of undergraduate wellness and health promotion, undergraduate and graduate environmental health and safety, and the master of public health. Interdisciplinary Health Sciences – the undergraduate health sciences degree program offers concentrations in nutrition, holistic health, and interdisciplinary pre-health professions, while the applied health sciences program offers degree completion opportunities for health specialized associate degree holders.
