Full Job Description

Position Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented Physician Assistant (PA) to join our busy and growing Endocrinology and Diabetes practice. The ideal candidate will work closely with our board-certified endocrinologists to provide high-quality care for patients with endocrine disorders, with a focus on endocrine and diabetes management. The PA will play a key role in initial assessments and follow-up visits.

Schedule:

  • Inpatient/Outpatient: Monday to Thursday: 8am-4:30pm and Friday: 8am-4pm depending on hospital rounding schedule
  • Inpatient: two weekends a month

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients with endocrine disorders, particularly diabetes, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, adrenal, and pituitary disorders
  • Order and interpret appropriate diagnostic tests, including labs, imaging, and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) data
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with supervising endocrinologist
  • Prescribe medications and adjust treatment regimens based on patient progress and lab results
  • Monitor patients’ responses to treatment and make necessary adjustments
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Participate in staff meetings, quality assurance programs, and continuing education

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current PA license in Michigan
  • DEA license (or eligibility to obtain)
  • BLS certification
  • At least 1 year of experience in endocrinology, internal medicine, or a related specialty preferred
  • Strong interest or prior experience in diabetes care and endocrine disorders preferred
  • Excellent communication, time management, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR)
