Full Job Description
This is an independent contractor inpatient NURSE PRACTITIONER position working with and under the supervision of a psychiatrist in the Lansing/Grand Rapids area to start immediately. We are looking for 2 NPs (can be family practice) to structure 7 on/7 off inpatient coverage to assess and treat the inpatient population of a psychiatric hospital. Working hours are mostly mornings from approximately 7 am to 11 am. PMHNP certification is not necessary for this position. Physician assistants are welcome to apply.
Responsibilities
- Examine patients and their medical records
- Order and study diagnostic tests (blood tests, X-rays etc.)
- Diagnose mental health and addiction illnesses
- Propose treatments for mental health and addiction illness
- Prescribe medications (if applicable)
- Maintain accurate records and schedules
- Inform patients about their health conditions and prescribed medications
- Educate patients and their family members on diseases, epidemics and prevention
- Oversee patients’ overall health
- Promote good health practices

Job Type: Contract
Pay: $60.00 – $100.00 per hour
