Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $3,150 – $3,370
- Position: Locum Tenens Physician Assistant (PA), Neonatal / Level 3 Inpatient
- Location: Pontiac, Michigan (zip code 48341) — Metro Detroit area
- Start Date: ASAP
- Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (travel assignment)
- Shift Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts (0800–2000, 2000–0800), including nights and weekends
- Hours Per Week: 36
- Call: No call
- EMR: Epic
- Supervision: Neonatologist on-site during day shift; autonomous from 1600–0800 with neonatologist on call
Qualifications (Neonatal PA Requirements)
- Minimum 1 year of experience as a Physician Assistant in a neonatal or inpatient setting (no new grads)
- Board certification from a recognized national certifying organization
- Active Michigan state PA license (or eligible for rapid licensure)
- Current BLS and NRP certifications
- Self-query NPDB report (pulled within 30 days)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive care for neonates up to 90 days of age in a Level 3 inpatient NICU
- Perform neonatal procedures including endotracheal intubation, umbilical line placement, ventilatory support, and stabilization at specified newborn deliveries
- Work autonomously during evening and overnight hours with neonatologist support on call
- Document clinical care and procedures accurately in Epic EMR
- Participate in scheduled night and weekend rotations as part of the neonatal care team
