Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant Job Description

OverviewWe are a privately owned urgent care seeking a dedicated and skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team. We are seeking a part-time provider to work 2-3 days a week, including rotating weekends. Our hours are Monday through Friday, 8am-7pm and Saturday/Sunday 8am-4pm. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care and be proficient in various medical procedures. This role involves working in a dynamic environment, providing comprehensive care to patients across different age groups, including toddlers. The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant will play a vital role in enhancing patient outcomes through effective assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including physical examinations and health histories.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs.
  • Administer medications and monitor patient responses to treatments.
  • Ability to perform vitals, perform sutures, administer injections, perform incision and drainages and assist in splinting in addition to other procedures
  • Willing to assist medical assistants in blood draws and IV administration
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding health management and disease prevention.
  • Maintain accurate patient records using ICD-10 coding for diagnoses and treatments.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Nursing/Physician Assistant or related field with a focus on Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant studies.
  • Current Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant certification and state licensure.
  • Strong clinical skills with experience in medical-surgical nursing preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • DOT certified or willing to become DOT certified (will reimburse)
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Previous experience in pediatric or toddler care is advantageous but not mandatory.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $60.00 – $65.00 per hour

Expected hours: 22 – 28 per week
