Full Job Description

We are seeking a Physician Assistant to assist in our Orthopedic and Urgent Care clinic in Warren.

Role/Position Definition: Provides medical and surgical services according to State guidelines and under the supervision of the Attending Physician.

Qualifications/Position Requirements:

A. Education/Experience

1. Completion of an accredited Physician’s Assistant Program required

2. Minimum 5 years experience in an orthopedic or urgent care setting.

3. Bone Health/Osteoporosis Clinic experience preferred

B. Licensure/Certification

1. Current Michigan state licensure

2. Maintains CEU’s in pertinent clinical practice according to licensure requirements

3. Maintains appropriate staff privileges at area hospital(s)

C. Personal Skills

Requires constant and frequent judgment and response; occasionally in response to disasters or emergencies, actual events or drills. Requires language skills adequate for high-level interpersonal and written communication.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Evaluating and treating acute musculoskeletal injuries
• Performing physical exams
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests for urgent care patients (e.g., X-rays, labs)
• Running DEXA and interpreting scans for bone health patients
• Developing treatment plans under physician supervision for both orthopedic and osteoporosis patients
• The PA performs procedures such as joint injections, splinting, casting, and wound care, and provides patient education on injury prevention, osteoporosis management, and post-treatment care.
• Additional duties include coordinating referrals, documenting in the electronic medical record, and collaborating with physicians and clinical staff to ensure efficient clinic flow and optimal patient outcomes.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40.00 – $60.00 per hour
