Full Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our dynamic urgent care team. As a Provider in our urgent care setting, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality and efficient patient care. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in urgent care or emergency medicine, possess excellent diagnostic and communication skills, and be able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Patient Assessment and Treatment:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history review and physical examinations.
- Diagnose and treat a variety of urgent care conditions, injuries, and illnesses.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as X-rays, laboratory tests, and EKGs.
- Emergency Care:
- Provide timely and effective care for patients with urgent medical needs.
- Stabilize patients in emergency situations and coordinate transfer to higher levels of care when necessary.
- Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with the medical team, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
- Communicate effectively with patients and families, explaining diagnoses, treatment plans, and necessary follow-up care.
- Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic medical records for all patient encounters.
- Document patient care plans, prescriptions, and other relevant information in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Quality Improvement:
- Participate in ongoing quality improvement initiatives to enhance the delivery of urgent care services.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical protocols and guidelines.
- Education and Training:
- Provide education to patients regarding their conditions, treatment plans, and preventive care.
- Participate in the training and orientation of new healthcare staff as needed.
Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program or Nurse Practitioner program
- Current state licensure as a Certfied Physician Assistant or Certified Nurse Practitioner
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in urgent care, emergency medicine, or a related field.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
