Position Summary: This full-time role is for a Physician Assistant PICC Specialist/ Vascular Access Specialist. The PA is responsible for performing and managing peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) line insertions, midlines, ultrasound peripheral IV catheter insertions, and providing assessments and care for patients. The role also involves patient education, documentation of procedures, and ensuring adherence to vascular access protocols and infection control standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Vascular Access:

  • Perform bedside insertion of PICCs, midlines, and ultrasound-guided peripheral IV catheters.
  • Conduct examinations, assessments, and evaluations of patients with vascular access devices

Education:

  • Educate patients and their families about the procedures to be completed.
  • Clearly document procedures in patient records.

Competencies:

  • Hold a current PA license in Massachusetts.
  • Maintain active BCLS certification.
  • Successfully complete vascular access competency skills checklist.

Qualifications:

Experience and Education:

  • Required: At least one year of vascular access experience, including PICC and midline insertions.
  • Preferred: A minimum of two years of nursing experience in a critical care area.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in PICC line insertions and vascular access care.
  • Strong attention to detail and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Capability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
  • Knowledge of infection control protocols.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $105,117.00 – $149,780.00 per year
