Full Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will work closely with physicians to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and medical histories of patients admitted to the hospital.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests and evaluations.
  • Diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans.
  • Educate patients about their health and wellness.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.

Diagnosis and Treatment:

  • Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
  • Provide appropriate medical interventions, procedures, and therapy as necessary.

Patient Management:

  • Monitor and document patients’ progress and response to treatment.
  • Manage acute and chronic illnesses in the inpatient setting.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including nurses, specialists, and social workers.
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding treatment plans, risks, and prognosis.

Education and Training:

  • Provide ongoing education to patients and their families about health conditions and post-discharge care.
  • Participate in the training and supervision of resident physicians and medical students, if applicable.

Quality Improvement:

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to evidence-based practices to enhance patient care.
  • Document care accurately and timely in accordance with legal and institutional standards.

Qualifications:

Physician Assistant:

  • Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program.
  • National certification (PA-C) and state licensure as a Physician Assistant.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Adult Nurse Practitioner:

  • Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) with a specialization in Geriatrics or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice.
  • Certification as a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner (GNP) from an accredited organization preferred.

Qualifications:

  • Previous inpatient experience preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong clinical skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Inpatient hospitalist service

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift and move patients and equipment as necessary.
  • May be required to stand for long periods and respond quickly to patient needs.

Work Environment:

  • Hospital/SNF/Nursing home setting with a dynamic and collaborative team-oriented culture.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Contract

Pay: $40.00 – $80.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
