Full Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Physician Assistant/ Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will work closely with physicians to provide high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations and medical histories of patients admitted to the hospital.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests and evaluations.
- Diagnose and treat illnesses and injuries.
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
- Develop and implement treatment plans.
- Educate patients about their health and wellness.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive care.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
Diagnosis and Treatment:
- Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with supervising physicians.
- Provide appropriate medical interventions, procedures, and therapy as necessary.
Patient Management:
- Monitor and document patients’ progress and response to treatment.
- Manage acute and chronic illnesses in the inpatient setting.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including nurses, specialists, and social workers.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families regarding treatment plans, risks, and prognosis.
Education and Training:
- Provide ongoing education to patients and their families about health conditions and post-discharge care.
- Participate in the training and supervision of resident physicians and medical students, if applicable.
Quality Improvement:
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to evidence-based practices to enhance patient care.
- Document care accurately and timely in accordance with legal and institutional standards.
Qualifications:
Physician Assistant:
- Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program.
- National certification (PA-C) and state licensure as a Physician Assistant.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
Adult Nurse Practitioner:
- Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) with a specialization in Geriatrics or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP).
- Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in the state of practice.
- Certification as a Gerontological Nurse Practitioner (GNP) from an accredited organization preferred.
Qualifications:
- Previous inpatient experience preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong clinical skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Inpatient hospitalist service
Physical Demands:
- Ability to lift and move patients and equipment as necessary.
- May be required to stand for long periods and respond quickly to patient needs.
Work Environment:
- Hospital/SNF/Nursing home setting with a dynamic and collaborative team-oriented culture.

Pay: $40.00 – $80.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 35 per week
