The Division of Rheumatology at UMass Memorial Medical Center is looking for a dedicated Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to become part of our expanding team. Our division is comprised of 13 Attending Physicians, 2 Nurse Practitioners, 2 Physician Assistants, and 4 fellows, all working together to provide exceptional care. Major responsibilities:

Duties would include seeing new and established patients with rheumatic conditions including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, tendinitis/bursitis, osteoporosis, and fibromyalgia, with a primary focus on osteoarthritis.

The provider will evaluate patients, order pertinent laboratories and diagnostic studies, give intra-articular injections, formulate treatment plans, and work collaboratively with the division’s physicians.

Assist the physicians in ordering monitoring laboratories, infusions, and communicating with patients.

There will be opportunities to work with leaders in the field of musculoskeletal and autoimmune disorders, and to attend regular educational activities within the division and through the American College of Rheumatology.

Full-time position (6 four-hour clinic sessions per week and 2 sessions supporting Osteoarthritis research).

Hospital-based outpatient clinic primarily at the newly renovated Rheumatology Center at our Memorial campus in Worcester. Clinics at other sites may be included.

Position Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree and Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.

Current NP or PA Massachusetts license
-
If prescribing medications is included in clinical duties and privileges, Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration and federal DEA Controlled Substance Registration are required.
Although previous Rheumatology experience is preferred, we would be willing to train qualified candidates. Previous experience in an ambulatory clinic is preferred.
