UMass Memorial Health is the largest health care system in Central Massachusetts. UMass Memorial Health seeks an Endoscopy Triage Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our expanding division. Position Highlights:

  • Assesses and documents patient acuity level, additional testing and/or consults ordered, and site/campus location recommendation in advance of procedure for safe and efficient scheduling and care.
  • Verifies no major changes in patient health history and, as needed, addresses clinical patient questions from the time of initial scheduling and leading up to the procedure.
  • Assistance in the development of endoscopy standards for triaging patients.
  • Provider should have a good understanding of moderate sedation guidelines. This includes ACLS + certification.
  • Provider will be expected to maintain clear communication between scheduling, staff, and providers.
  • Provider will be expected to cross cover inpatient OR cases at University Campus when needed and maintain coverage of calls from outside institutions for round trip procedures.
  • Facilitation and coordination of outpatient urgent GI services.
  • UMass Endoscopy performs more than 25,000 procedures per year across all sites.

Position Qualifications:

Required:

  • Masters or doctoral degree.
  • Graduate of approved Nurse Practitioner program with certification.
  • Current Massachusetts license.

Experience/Skills:

Preferred:

  • 3-5 years of experience.
  • Previous experience in procedural areas, surgical or critical care.
