$135,283.20 – $170,414.40

About the Critical Care APP Team
Join a dynamic and highly skilled team of over 70 nurse practitioners and physician assistants who:
- Provide coverage across 8 adult ICUs
- Perform lifesaving procedures and manage complex conditions
- Practice at the top of their license with autonomy and collaboration
- Embrace education, mentorship, and continuous professional development
- Are essential and respected members of our interdisciplinary ICU care team

Position Summary
UMass Memorial Health is seeking a committed and compassionate Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our adult critical care team. In this role, you will perform comprehensive assessments, diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions, and deliver expert care with a high degree of autonomy. You will also engage in education, quality improvement, and leadership initiatives that support patient outcomes and team development. Major Responsibilities:
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests
- Conduct in-depth health histories and physical examinations
- Analyzes data collected to determine health status and identify differential diagnoses based on history, physical exam, and clinical findings.
- Develop and implement care plans with physicians and patients
- Manage therapeutic interventions and perform advanced procedures
- Reassess and modify plan treatment plans to achieve medical and health goals.
- Documents and communicate care outcomes and clinical findings to determine effectiveness of plan of care.
Position Qualifications:
License/Certification/Education:
Required:
For Nurse Practitioners
- Master’s degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program (preferably ACNP/AGACNP)
- Current Massachusetts NP license
- Board Certification by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
- Acute Care/Critical Care clinical experience required
- Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration and federal DEA Controlled Substance Registration
For Physician Assistants
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
- Current Massachusetts license, issued by the Physician Assistant Board
- Current certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Acute Care/Critical Care clinical experience required
- Massachusetts Controlled Substances Registration and federal DEA Controlled Substance Registration
