SMN Physician Assistant Clinic Only
Sports Medicine North, a multi-specialty orthopedic practice north of Boston, has an exceptional opportunity for a part-time Physician Assistant to join its team in Peabody, MA. This well-regarded group of 24 sub-specialty trained physicians offers a highly collegial and supportive work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Performs complete physical exams, obtains complete medical history and records findings
- Orders appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures. Interprets and integrates data to determine diagnosis and therapeutic plan
- Collaborates with physicians in managing acute and long-term medical needs of patients
- Provides monitoring and continuity of care between physician visits
- Administers medications and injections in compliance with state law and clinic guidelines
- Instructs patients/families regarding medications and treatments
- Educates patients regarding health and illness prevention, surgical procedures and expectations in perioperative period
- Actively supports patient safety program; adheres to applicable patient safety standards including NQF Safe Practices
- Triages patient telephone calls and provides consultation as necessary
- Performs necessary administrative duties consistent with role including EMR and billing inputs
- Identifies emergency situations and uses sound judgement in instituting established procedures to respond to emergencies in a calm and efficient manner
- Athenahealth EMR
- No call responsibility
- Clinic hours are 8am-5pm, 2-3 days per week

Requirements:
- Board Certified PA
- Massachusetts licensure
- Orthopedic experience preferred; new grads welcome to apply
- Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
