Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA)

Allergy & Immunology Outpatient Specialty Care

AIANE is seeking a compassionate, motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our growing specialty practice. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside experienced allergists in collaborative, patient-centered environment focused on high-quality care, education, and long-term outcomes.

Provider is responsible for providing medical care to patients under the direct supervision of a licensed Board Certified Allergy and Immunologist (s), and in accordance with approved, written practice supervision agreements and guidelines.

Services provided will include coordination and performance challenges – medications, foods, etc., perform spirometry, be present for allergy injections and prepared to treat systemic reactions, remote monitoring of patients and assist with skin testing, intradermal testing, and patch testing. AIANE is committed to an evidence-based approach to allergy and immunology care.

Essential Job functions:

  • Provides clinical services and develops and implements plans of care in conjunction with supervising physician(s).
  • Performs physical examinations and preventative health measures within prescribed guidelines.
  • Initiates necessary laboratory and diagnostic tests. Places and Interprets allergy skin testing.
  • Confers with supervising physician(s), nursing staff and/or other care providers to ensure optimum quality of patient care, and to prepare a comprehensive patient care plan. Refers to appropriate physician(s) for more complicated medical cases or cases that are not a routine part of a PA/NP’s scope of practice.
  • Understand the protocols and your role in recognizing and managing anaphylaxis following treatment of allergen immunotherapy.
  • Stay current with immunotherapy safety guidelines and emergency response protocols.
  • Obtains consultations and/or referrals as appropriate.
  • Responds to patient inquires, answers questions, and refers questions to physician(s) as appropriate.
  • Documents all patient care services in the electronic medical record within 24 hours from time of visit.
  • Completes required continuous training and education, including practice specific requirements.
  • Works closely with physicians and other clinicians in a team approach to patient care.
  • Conducting and interpreting Spirometry tests.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Displays a positive attitude when interacting with physician’s office staff, physicians, and fellow employees of the office.
  • Establishes and maintains patient educational materials.
  • Demonstrates professional work behavior and complies with organizational policies and procedures and federal and state requirements.
  • Provides health education counseling to patients and families as appropriate; and supports programs for patients and their families. Answers questions about condition and treatment plan.
  • Participates in and supports performance improvement and risk management activities.
  • Patient focused and committed to providing outstanding and compassionate care and service to all Patients
  • Respects and protects the patient’s rights to confidentiality and privacy and discloses information only for professional purposes which are in the patient’s best interests with full consideration of their legal rights.
  • Obtains patient medical history
  • Other job duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Successful completion of accredited Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner program
  • Current licensure as Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner by state of Massachusetts
  • Board certification
  • Current BLS, ACLS certification
  • 2 or more years of experience as a PA/NP is required, Allergy experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical procedures and guidelines concerning assessment, treatment, and recovery
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a clinical team
  • Demonstrated professional competence and integrity and ethical conduct of practice
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, and effective conflict resolution skills
  • Strong computer skills and EMR knowledge

Locations:

Allergy Immunology Associates of New England, LLC located in Greenfield, Northampton, Westfield and Wilbraham, Massachusetts

Hours of Operation:

The physician owned private practice operates 8:30A – 6:00P, and times vary among office locations. This is a Monday – Friday workweek, NO WEEKENDS.

Compensation:

Salary determinations will be based on various factors, including years of experience, individual performance, quality measures, and the location of the position.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $115,000.00 – $130,000.00 per year
